Oleksandr Lysenko
Since 2020 Oleksandr as independent expert has advised leading international organizations, including OECD, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, World Bank, IFC, EBRD, USAID and others, on corporate governance matters. He has been praised for his work by OECD, including for his contribution to OECD Review of the Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises: Ukraine (2021) and updated G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance 2023 and OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises(2024).
Since the beginning of Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine Oleksandr joined the International Working Group on Russian Sanctions and focused on developing sanctions designed to end business dealings with aggressor. His proposals regarding introduction of mandatory disclosureof business connections and dealings with Russia have already been implemented in regulations of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC).
In 2018-2019 Oleksandr was member of the NBU team with a particular focus on corporate governance reform in banking sector, including development of methodology for assessing corporate governance in banks. Prior to that, he worked in private sector as corporate lawyer advising investors on resolution of corporate conflicts.
Oleksandr has been an active participant in corporate governance reform in Ukraine and co-authored the Ukraine Code of Corporate Governance and key corporate legislation, including new law on corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, joint stock company law, and legislation on disclosures, remuneration policy and other.
Since 2023 Oleksandr has been Member of the Board of Directors of Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA) and has represented CGPA in ecoDa working group focused on state-owned enterprises.
Oleksandr has authored numerous publications discussing corporate governance matters in leading national and international media outlets.
